Novatron’s Xsite EASY gets a swing boom measuring feature

Swing boom measuring provides users with an entirely new level of control and performance, helping to meet even the most demanding needs of the construction industry.

Novatron’s Xsite® EASY, the most user-friendly machine control system, is now taking a step forward by introducing boom swing sensoring and measurement. The new feature is available with two different sensor options (angle sensor ja draw wire) depending on the type of machine’s type. The 0.0-degree reading in the screen’s upper right corner indicates the boom swing angle. A green compass arrow on the screen also shows the boom’s position relative to the set direction.

“This feature is a highly requested addition for boom swing excavator operators. Now, operators can measure the entire movement range of the machine and all parts of the boom,” says Xsite EASY Product Manager Sami Päkkilä.

“The beauty of Xsite EASY is that you don’t need any prior knowledge of machine control systems. Operators can forget about browsing through manuals—just turn on the device and start working,” tells Regional Sales Manager Matti Luoranen.

In what kinds of places does the swing boom measuring make working easier?

The new feature is designed for excavators with an articulated boom. This function makes the operator’s job easier and provides significant benefits, especially in the following situations:

How to Activate the New Boom Swing Measuring feature?

To enable this feature, new systems require the installation of an additional swing boom sensor. For older systems, both a sensor and a software update are needed.
