New version of Xsite DRILL enables Measuring While Drilling feature

The Xsite DRILL drilling and hole navigation system developed for Novatron’s surface drilling equipment gains new features in version 2.13. The version offers new interfaces for different machine types and enables measurement during drilling.

Xsite® DRILL is a high-precision satellite-based drilling and hole navigation system that helps the drill operator navigate to the correct hole position and assists in achieving the correct drilling angles and depth quickly and safely. The system is also available for non-cabin drill rigs as the Xsite® DRILL RD version with a wireless remote display.

Xsite DRILL version 2.13 includes an interface for StonePower drill rigs.

Version 2.13 brings new features

MWD data gathering is now available on all devices. You can log MWD data, including penetration speed. The data saving interval can be adjusted to your needs; interval can be defined by distance (from every 0.05m up to 2.00m), or the system can also auto-detect rod changes, allowing the saving interval to match one rod length. Manage support for this feature is scheduled for the first half of 2026. The current solution saves the IREDES format MWD data locally to MCC.

Also, you can now enrich as-built information by marking both the hole end and start points. Additionally, it is possible to deselect all project models with a single click. This speeds up the search for the right model in large projects where there may be dozens of data models.

MWD data can be used, for example, to enrich sampling drilling data.

Drill pattern functionality has been improved to speed up usage. A combined blast direction and inclination view is now available, and the extend line feature supports two-point lines. The maximum pattern size has been increased from 50 by 50 to 100 by 100 holes.

Quick-access buttons make it easier to select drill holes.

Visual improvements

The user interface has now an option for a light theme, which is especially useful for high-visibility needs, such as remote control use.

On top of this, the interface has been refreshed to reflect the new fresh Novatron brand.

New interfaces for machine types

In SB Tech, there is now an option to use the ultrasonic sensors for rail extension.

There is new interface for StonePower / AMV drill rigs. Interface supports drilling depth, mast angles, and MWD. It has functionality for mast auto-alignment.

For the Epiroc FlexiROC (T40R) MY2025, a hybrid sensor solution is available for Ethernet interface, including depth and boom swing.
